Who we are
Habit Tracker Grid (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Kristmann Technologies, a sole proprietorship (Einzelunternehmen). Kristmann Technologies is the controller responsible for processing within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

The short version
- Your habits and every day you tick off stay on your device and in your own iCloud. We run no server that stores this data.
- There is no user account and no sign-up.
- There are no ads and no advertising trackers.
- This website sets no cookies, embeds no analytics services and therefore needs no consent banner.
- Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never see your payment details.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in the app is stored locally on your iPhone and synced through your own iCloud:
- your habits, including names, colours, goals, units and step sizes,
- which days you ticked off, and the streaks that come out of them,
- your settings, such as the theme, the colour you picked or your own background image,
- the times at which the app should remind you.
We have no access to this data. iCloud syncing happens between your device and your own Apple account; Apple's privacy policy applies to it.
Backup and restore
The app can write a full backup of your data as a JSON file and restore it. Where that file goes — your Files app, a cloud of your choosing, another device — is up to you via the iOS share sheet. From that point on, the terms of the destination you picked apply. Nothing is transmitted to us.
Notifications
Reminders are optional. You decide per habit whether and when the app reminds you. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device; no push server of ours is involved. If you decline the permission, or withdraw it later in the iOS settings, the app is not restricted in any way.
Subscriptions and payments
Habit Tracker Grid offers an optional Premium subscription. Purchase, billing and renewal are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We neither receive nor store your name or your card or other payment details — Apple processes those under its own privacy policy.
To check whether a subscription is active and to unlock the Premium features, we use RevenueCat, a service provider acting as our processor. For that purpose RevenueCat processes the transaction and receipt data of your purchase along with a randomly generated app user identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your name or payment details. This purchase data is the only subscription information we use, and it serves solely to give you the features you bought.
Crash and performance data
So that we can find and fix errors, the app sends technical diagnostic data to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), likewise as a processor. What is transmitted is anonymous crash and performance data: error messages and stack traces, technical details about the device and app version, and runtime measurements. Your habits, the days you ticked off and your backup files are not part of it.
This website
This website is a pure information site:
- No cookies. No cookies are set — neither our own nor third-party ones.
- No tracking, no analytics. Neither Google Analytics nor Plausible nor any other analytics or tracking tool is embedded. That is also why there is no consent banner.
- No external fonts or scripts at runtime. The fonts we use are bundled when the site is built and served from our own domain; your browser makes no connection to Google Fonts or any other third party when you open the page.
- Hosting. The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. When a page is requested, technically necessary server log data is created (including IP address, time of the request, the address requested and the browser type transmitted). It is processed solely to deliver the page, to keep it secure and to track down errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning web presence (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Legal bases for processing (Art. 6 GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) to provide the app's features and a subscription you purchased; your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for optional features such as notifications, which you give through the iOS permission prompt and can withdraw at any time; and our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in the stability and security of the app and the website, for example with anonymous crash and performance data and with server log data.
Retention
Because your data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you decide how long it is kept: you can change or delete habits and individual days in the app at any time, and deleting the app removes its local data. We keep no copies of it. Diagnostic data at Sentry and purchase data at RevenueCat are stored only for as long as they are needed for troubleshooting and subscription management.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21). Since we run no user account and your habits are not on our servers, most of this data is already directly in your hands. For anything else, contact support@kristmanntechnologies.de.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the authority of the German federal state in which you live. A list of the German authorities is available at bfdi.bund.de.
Children
Habit Tracker Grid is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we nevertheless hold a child's data, please get in touch.
Changes to this policy
We adapt this policy when the app or the legal situation changes. The current version is always on this page; the date above states when it was last updated.
