Habits that aren’t daily: tracking a weekly goal
Last updated:
Not every habit wants to be a daily one. Exercise on three days, reading on five: for habits like these, Habit Tracker Grid has the weekly goal. You decide on how many days a week you want to make a habit, from 1 to 7.
How to set it
- On your habit’s card, tap the pencil. “Edit habit” opens.
- Under “Weekly goal”, pick a number from 1 to 7. “Off” means no weekly goal.
- Tap “Save changes”.
For a new habit you find “Weekly goal” in the same editor, and you save with “Add habit” there. The app explains the rule right below “Weekly goal”: “A week runs Monday to Sunday and counts as done once you hit the daily target on that many days.”
What the grid shows
On the grid, the app marks the running week, the weeks you made and the ones you missed. The running week counts as open as long as you can still reach your goal in the days that are left. Only once that is no longer possible does it count as missed.
The card shows your goal, “3×/week” for example, and how many of the weeks on display you made, such as “2 / 5 weeks”.
Streak and rate then count weeks
With a weekly goal, streak and success rate count the weeks you made instead of days. The numbers sit in the advanced statistics, and those come with Premium. Without Premium you see your weeks on the grid and on the card. More in Where do I see my streak?
What works without Premium
The weekly goal is part of the free version, which covers up to 2 habits. What Premium costs is on the pricing page.
